Road Trip Necessities

After school today, my family and I are hopping in the car and heading off on a 22-hour-straight trip seeking sea and sunshine; I'm over the moon! Although it seems like sitting in the car for so long would make you insane, I've actually gotten used to it and even started to enjoy the ride (but that's easy to say when I'm just a passenger and don't do any of the driving). Road trips are fun and all, but only if you're prepared. I remember one year I packed very little to do and was bored out of my mind after the first 4 hours... the other 18 went by veryyyy slowly. Here's a peek into my travel bag to share everything you (and I) need to stay content while in the car for a long period of time.

Gum  //  Chewing some gum passes the time quicker and freshens your breath - everyone else in the car will thank you for having it ;).

For an obvious reason - vacationing somewhere warm and sunny - I've got my sunglasses handy!

Headphones  //  When my siblings are sleeping, headphones are my best friend; I can listen to music as loud as I want without bothering anyone. My family recently got Hulu, so I'm looking forward to finding a movie to watch on my phone and using my headphones... Barbie and the Three Musketeers that my little sister watches just doesn't cut it sometimes. 😜

Highlighters, Markers, Colored Pencils, and Pens  //  I've been super into writing in fancy fonts lately, so I packed my calligraphy markers and some plain white paper. I'm also bringing pencils, pens, and colored pencils to do my schoolwork with and use to draw. It's fun to let loose your creativity and have a little fun while you're stuck in the car.

Phone  //  If I forgot my phone at home it would not be pretty. I use it to watch movies, check social media, text my friends, listen to music, play games... you name it.

Laptop  //  I wish I could say I'll just be using it to blog, but I'll be writing papers for school as well. Laptops are capable of doing a ton of different things on-the-go when you hook them up to your phone's hotspot.

Book  //  Actually, I packed three of them - I'm such a bookworm. I get carsick if I read for too long, but I'm hoping to squeeze in a few pages here and there.

Snacks  //  You know how Snickers says 'hangry'? It's a real thing, and it's scary. You DO NOT want to be around my little brother when he's hungry, trust me. When your legs are cramped up and there's still an hour until you can stop for a meal, snacks are your best friend. A little candy never hurt anyone either...

I hope to log on soon, but I'll most likely be taking the next few weeks off to enjoy some family time. Stay tuned - I'll be back to introduce my puppy on March 6th!!!!

 Until next time,
Meghan 💕
