A New Beginning + the Importance of a Thank You

Hello, hello! I've got something fun to share today, both a product and personal news and both of which correspond. How fun?!

I'm switching schools next year.
While it may seem insignificant, this is really going to be a big change for me. I'll be living there (it's a boarding school), eating the food there, working out there, meeting new people there, everything will be different.
At the end of August, I'll be moving out of my home and moving into my new school. I'm stoked. A little bit sad to leave because my family members are my biggest fans and my best friends, but I can't wait for the change, the challenge, and the new adventures to come. My new home will be right by the sea in the same small, quiet town that my grandparents live in.

The question I get asked so often recently: Why are you leaving?
...For no specific reason other than I know it's best for me. I know it will be best for my education, my athletics, and overall. I really think that I'll thrive a lot more there than I do at my current school. It's not that there's anything wrong with where I'm at now, but just that I'm always up for an extra challenge that I know this school will provide me with.

For all of you that have applied to college or some type of private high school, you know that a lot goes into the application process. It's a long road with testing, letters of recommendation, essays, transcripts, all that fun stuff. A lot of time and effort is put in by numerous people, and I stick by the thought that I wouldn't be heading to my new school next year without the help of my parents, grandparents, siblings, teachers, coaches, and friends. I'm so grateful for all that they've done for me and feel that a text or email wouldn't express how truly thankful I am.

When Basic Invite reached out to me, there was only one thank you card left in my desk and I had tons to write. Handwritten thank-yous have always been prioritized in my family and the older I get, the more I understand why. They're a sign that you're willing to go further and take more time than just shooting out a text or email... that you're willing to put in an effort. They represent true gratitude and not something automatic that is done because it feels mandatory.

Basic Invite has the best thank you cards, graduation invites (including inspirational graduation invitations), wedding invites, and common stationery. They also have paramedic graduation invitations for those that deserve to be acknowledged and celebrated. Reaching milestones such as graduating from high school (high school graduation invitations templates) or college, becoming a certified paramedic/doctor/nurse/person of any occupation, getting married, or having a baby deserve to be recognized. We all do pretty cool things in life and our family and friends are excited to celebrate them.

I personalized each and every one of these cards and made them all YELLOW! Some of them were originally blue, some were pink, and some of them were darker yellow, but there are over 180 different color options to choose from. You can make your invites or stationary exactly what you want them to be! You can change the text, the colors, the edges of the card, the font, the font size, and the envelope color (out of 40 different ones, so good luck trying to narrow it down lol!).
With a lot of different options to choose from for colors and such, you might not be able to make up your mind right away. Don't stress! They offer free custom samples so you have a chance to see exactly what your items will look like before you place your order; that's the bomb.com for people like me that are extra careful when ordering online. (I bought a babydoll for my little sister for Christmas a few years ago and when it came in the mail it was like 4 inches long. Ever since, I've been very cautious. But that's beside the point. 😆)

Basic Invite is so cool to me because it's a place of potential, accomplishment, and thankfulness. It holds everything we need to plan what is to come, share what has been done, and to then show our gratitude. Moving on to this new chapter of my life in the fall is a big opportunity for me and I'm so happy that, through Basic Invite, I was able to share it with my loved ones.

as always, stay on the sunny side,
meg

P.S. you can use the code 15FF51 for 15% off your order! Happy shopping, friends!
