My Health Shelf

Hello, hello! After a much-needed, incredibly relaxing, absolutely perfect 2-week vacation in Florida, I'm the happiest camper around. It was suchhh a great time and was so nice to rest, recharge, and get a break from the hustle and bustle at home. I was hoping to get a post up while I was away, but family time always came first, so I never got around to it - and I'm 100% okay with that. However, my creative juices were flowing and I have a few good ideas for content to come!

On a side note, I've gathered all of my favorite products that I find so cool and put together my own little natural remedies shelf. It's become my favorite part of my room: my shelf with the BIGGEST green plant and all of my fun little gadgets inside! One thing I really enjoy is researching natural medicine, how diet affects us as people, and keeping up to date on all the latest trends in healthcare. I find it so interesting how the body works and how we can use outside substances (like the ones I have) to heal things internally. I always keep my opinions and ideas open and never turn down a good health-related article or podcast. My goal is to be as educated as possible about achieving optimum health by knowing what I need that my body doesn't already produce/supply. Take collagen, for example. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body that keeps our hair, joints, skin, and nails healthy. Our bodies supply us with this protein, but in fewer and fewer amounts when we become older or exercise strenuously. After I dug a little deeper into the benefits of collagen, I now take it every day and swear by it. I know there are so many new items out there that I'm unaware of, but I'm grateful and happy with everything I have now! So, here's a peek into my growing little shelf that's been doing the trick for me for quite a while now!

this plant... i love it!!

✩  MAGNESIUM OIL  ✩
I guess Santa knows me really well because I woke up Christmas morning to magnesium oil spray in my stocking. I had been wanting to buy it for so long and I was so happy to be able to add it to my shelf recently. It works so well to alleviate muscle pain, so I spray it on my sore muscles every night.

✩  JADE ROLLER  ✩
~ so conventional ~ These things are on the rise and I feel like they're mentioned in every article I read related to natural remedies. They supposedly eventually help with circulation in the face, stimulating the lymphatic system, and overall helping to improve the elasticity and "glow" of the skin, but I don't think I've been using it long enough to notice extreme effects. Either way, it does a great job of rubbing my serum into my face without it feeling oily and the coldness of the stone is always refreshing in the morning!

✩  ESSENTIAL OILS  ✩
Of course. I mean, who am I kidding, I've started a collection now. For Christmas, my aunt gave me three super yummy-smelling ones to diffuse. If you read my post about my essential oil diffuser, you've heard me talk about the good-sleep and immune aid blends that I love and have been using for almost a year now! I also just got and started diffusing a calming oil from my parents. An essential oil diffuser is something I think is a really good investment (even though mine was only $15 ;) and I can't say enough good things about them.

the entire collection ^^
☆  PINK SPRAY BOTTLE  ☆
In the bottle, I blended in about 6 drops of the calming essential oil and spray it on my pillow every night before bet. I really think it helps me go to sleep like a little baby ;))

☆  MISSISSIPPI MIRACLE CLAY CREAM  ☆
I'm not going to lie - this cream has such a strong scent. Not necessarily bad, but very overpowering. Totally worth it for me because it takes away almost all muscle pain. For a short period of time, of course, but it makes the area it is applied to tingle and therefore takes away the pain.

I hope you've enjoyed reading about all the fun health-nut toys 😜 and I wish you the best week! Go be awesome + spread some sunshine!!

Stay on the sunny side,
MEG
