Iced Matcha Latte

It just so worked out that I had this post planned for the day after St. Patrick's Day - what a perfect occasion to share this green drink! For those of you that don't know what matcha is, it's finely ground green tea leaves. I was asked by my sweet friend Katelyn what it tastes like and to tell you the truth, I have no idea ;) I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's so yummy and not much like regular green tea (it's much sweeter). I think most people like to serve their matcha lattes hot, but I've always had mine cold and love it. Maybe someday I'll go out of my bubble and try it warm... someday.

Of the many foodies and health gurus I follow, I don't think I've ever seen people make their matcha alike. This person adds cinnamon, this person puts it in a blender, this person uses a frother, you name it. So, I thought it would be fun to share how I make mine! I hope you like it + give it a try!

!!!...finished product...!!! now let's get blending ↓↓

Everything you need right here! Collagen is optional, but it makes it frothy (aka the best part!). Stevia for sweetener, almond milk, three ice cubes, matcha powder (I hope?) and a blender to mix it all together!

☆ 1/2 tbsp matcha powder + water
☆ 2 packets of stevia (sweetener)
☆ 1 cup almond milk
☆ 1 scoop collagen
☆ 3 ice cubes

To start out, mix a spoonful of matcha with equally as much water (about 1/2 tbsp). This dilutes the powder so that it blends easier and doesn't stick together in clumps. I used to make my matcha without putting it in the blender and you still need to do this or else the situation is not very pretty!

Now chuck it allllll in the blender - the diluted matcha powder, about a cup to a cup and a half of almond milk, three ice cubes, a scoop of collagen, and two small packets of stevia (equivalent to about 3/4 of a spoonful). It'll come out nice and bubbly + can be served in a speckled ceramic mug for the #aesthetic or a plastic cup for on the go... YOU DO YOU! I hope you enjoy your Iced Matcha Latte: Meghan style!

I hope you had a gr888 Monday, got one step closer to your goals, and have a chill rest of the evening. See you soon!

Stay on the sunny side,
MEG
